A very practical application involves the scanning of a QR codeto obtain nutritional information―McDonald’s is one such example. How many times have you wondered just how many calories are in somethingyou ordered at a restaurant or fast food restaurant? McDonald’s have answeredthat by putting QR codes on its packaging.  The initiative is a part of an ongoing effortto help customers lead a nutritious life and make informed choices. McDonald’swill continue the rollout in the majority of its restaurants by the end of2013. QR Codes for Sports Stats

To contact us Click HERE
Adding a QR code somewhere in the corner of the television screen could be used to extend the viewer's experience by providing additional player information.
What ifsports networks were to include an (unobtrusive) QR code somewhere in thebottom corner of the television screen? Once scanned, the viewer would betransported to the specific landing page for that player. In this example, while Andrew McCutcheon is at bat, a QR code could be scanned to obtain hisstats on the user’s smartphone. Think of the many sports we watch and the possibilities… Chris Lehan is a Director at Impressions Incorporated (a multi-color printer in St. Paul, MN specializing in the complete production ofcustomized printing and paperboard packaging). http://www.i-i.com/Follow me on Twitter @chrislehan

QR Codes and Television

Is fifteen seconds enough time to use a QR Code in a TV spot?

Why are very few television advertisers incorporating 2D barcodes into their advertisements? It appears that marketers believe television viewers would not have enough time to access their smartphone, launch the app and scan the code. Many Ad agencies say, "15 seconds is too short to do anything more than X,Y and Z." Phillip Warbasse wrote about this argument, along with rebuttals at PRINT2D Misconceptions about QR Codes for use on TV
Because QR Codes extend the interaction time with an audience, advertisement agencies should be creatively thinking of ways to include QR Codes in their spots, and not dismissing them. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the “call-to-action” extended by displaying a very short blurb, along with the QR code, in the corner of the television screen (… brought to you buy: “Advertiser Name” next to the QR code). You already see this type of display when a network publicizes an upcoming show during an airing of a current show.

Awesome Beaches in Australia

To contact us Click HERE
Speaking of Australia aka the ‘Down Under’… that is one of my future travel list. Though I have not been to ‘down’ there yet but that does not deter me to research and write up on some of the cool beaches to be visited in Australia. Forget the outback and even the populous Gold Coast! Here’s some of my top 4 awesome beaches to be explored in Australia as part of my yet another sponsored post in promoting flights to Australia
1. Bondi Beach
Arguably Australia’s most well known beach but I have not heard about it. Well situated in New South Wales, it’s a mecca for tourists, lifesavers, and surfers. Due to long sun rays, it’s a perfect place for sun surfers. Just a few minutes away from vibrant Sydney, Bondi beach is a place to be hit!

2. Cable Beach
Ever wondered by it was named that way? Yes Cable Beach was named after the telegraph cable laid between Broome and Java in the year 1889. Renowned as one of the most stunning beaches in the world, Cable Beach is a twenty-two kilometres pristine white sand beach situated near Broome, Western Australia. Filled with my kind of turquoise water facing the Indian Ocean, it is a perfect place for surfers as the tide can reach over nine metres. The sunset is one of the most magnificent you can ever see in the world.

3. Hyams Beach
A small seaside village situated at the south of Sydney, it is an excellent holiday area for families. Hyams Beach is famous for holding the whitest sand in the world in the Guinness Book of Records.

4. Whitehaven Beach
Situated on an uninhabited Whitsunday Island near Queensland’s Great Barrier Reef, Whitehaven Beach the beach is so dazzling that it hurts to look at without sunglasses. Awards galore! The beach won the Queensland’s Cleanest Beach Award 2008 in Keep Australia Beautiful Clean Beach Challenge. In July 2010, Whitehaven Beach was named the top Eco Friendly Beach in the world by CNN.com. Pets especially dogs are not permitted on the beach and smoking is prohibited/banned (that’s the best part!). Unlike regular sand, the sand on does not retain heat making it comfortable to walk barefoot on a hot day. This is a natural feature I have never heard of.

So what are you guys waiting for? Hurry up book your flights to Australia now and enjoy those beaches.

The New Air Asia Queens Park Rangers A320 Official Partner Aircraft

To contact us Click HERE
I have been hearing about the new Air Asia Queens Park Rangers Official Partner Airbus A320 Aircraft and finally I managed to get a ride on this new beautiful aircraft. I thought it was cool therefore I decided to write up a post to compliment Air Asia again even though I have my personal 'feud' with the Airlines due to some bad consumer practice.
Yea..I am not a fan of Queens Park Rangers or better known as QPR in the Barclays Premier League even more so they 'allowed' 2 extra goals for Manchester City in the final minutes and that has caused Manchester United to lose the title (I'm a Red Devils fan by the way). Nevertheless, since its largest shareholder is none of other the founder and CEO of Air Asia, Datuk Tony Fernandes, QPR and Air Asia have been bringing Malaysian name to new heights for the correct reason of course.
The new Official Partner Airlines for Air Asia is ready to be onboard for Penang to Kuala Lumpur flight

At the front of the Aircraft, you could spot this name 'Alan McDonald'. He's not a designer of this aircraft or pilot or whatsoever but Alan McDonald is a long time player for QPR football club. The name was in-scripted on this aircraft in remembrance and memory of his spell in QPR after he death in this year 2012 July.

The rear of the aircraft is even more spectacular with the nicely painted logo of Queens Park Rangers
Inside the new aircraft, it's a whole new interior. Instead of the trademark red and white color, it is replaced with cool bluish and white finish. On every blue color painted on the luggage door, you could see all the history about Queens Park Rangers Football Club
One of the history is about their former player Les Ferdinand joining Newcastle United for a record fee.

In front of the hot seat,  at the divider, the players of Queens Park Rangers football club signed their autograph on it.
While the QPR football club managed to maintained their position in the Premier League Division, I sincerely wish them the best of luck in this new season as well!

Bangkok's Baiyoke Tower II

Sawasdeekrub! This year 2012 mark my return to Bangkok, the land of smiles, my second home after 2 years ofhiatus. Full of nostalgic feelings however, there’s a place which I have notvisited for the past few years till now. Yes the Baiyoke Tower II, the tallest buildingin Thailand. The building is 304 m (997 ft) tall, or 328 m (1,076 ft) tall withthe antenna included. Situated at Ratchathewi district, the tower has85 floors with a public observatory on the 77th floor. To enter the top of thetower, you are required to purchase a ticket of 400 baht person (300 bahtbefore 6pm; free for hotel guest). The ticket price includes snacks andcocktail of your choice at the “Roof Top Bar & Music Lounge” on the 83rd floorand a 360 degrees revolving roof top deck which is situated on the 84th floor. The Baiyoke Tower II is also known as Sky Hotel which is the tallest hotel inSoutheast Asia and the fourth tallest in the world with 673 guest rooms.

The photo of the tower taken from afar nearby the Central World Shopping Complex in the year 2008. On wall, the advertisement for "BMW: A Brand to look up to" still remains the same even now

at the 77th floor, there is a public exhibition hall about the history and construction of the tower. This is one of the concrete used to construct the Baiyoke Tower II

From another side of the hotel lobby from far you could see the huge poster of the revered Thai King Bhumibol on the Novotel Hotel.

Long Live the Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej

To contact us Click HERE
I'm very sure that anyone who has been to Bangkok must be wondering why are there so many posters (huge and small) of the Thai King around the city, buildings, shopping complexes, hotels etc you name it you got it~
It's not that it's a rule or even part of the law. It's not because the Thai King  is the longest serving monarch in the world. It is because the Thai King, King Bhumibol Adulyadej is highly revered by his people. Visitors and tourists of Thailand might not understand this but I have been in the land of smiles for almost 2 years for my studies. I found from the people that he is the most kind-hearted king and most loved king by the people of his nation I have ever seen in my whole life. I have heard of the King's kind hearted deeds towards his own people, e.g. helping the poor by setting up royal projects; giving up part of his palace ground for agricultural research; during the flood in Bangkok, the Thai King even requested for the flood water to be diverted into his palace ground and He even join in to the discussion on how to solve the flood problems during the big flood which happened last year 2012. Such King is very rare these days in the modern world of democracy. He is the King worthy of love and respect by everyone!
To commemorate my return to Bangkok this year after 2 years, just like the Thais, I would like to wish the Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej continuous long life.~Long Live the Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej~

Nyhavn: The Haven of Copenhagen

To contact us Click HERE
Duringone of my winter walk around Copenhagen, I came across these color facades onthe both side of the frozen river. Much to my curiosity, this colourful placeis called Nyhavn which is a 17th century waterfront, canal and entertainmentdistrict. Sounds like ‘New Haven’, Nyhavn is lined by many townhouses, bars, cafes and restaurants. Historically, Nyhavn was constructed by KingChristian V from 1670-73, and dug by Swedish war prisoners from the Dano-SwedishWar 1658–1660.

Basically,Nyhavn canal serves as a gateway from the sea to the old inner city where tradingand businesses were carried out. To my surprise, it was also notorious forbeer, sailors, and prostitution.
Thenorthern side of Nyhavn are in odd numbers whereas the southern side of Nyhavnare in even numbers. The famous Danish author Hans Christian Andersen livedat Nyhavn 18 for some years which is a lavish mansion. Currently, the canal isbeing used for boating recreational activity served as Nyhavn Veteran Ship andMuseum Harbour.

During the winter, all the boats and yacht are not operating at all

A restaurant yacht which is not operational during the winter season

A drawbridge for small ships and yacht waiting to operate back again during the summer and spring.
During the winter everything is 'magically' frozen. But I'm sure that during the summer, everything will be vibrant in which I hope to experience the summer mood in Scandinavian countries in the near future.

After the fatal earthquake in Haiti, there was a massive coverage. Only two weeks later, Haiti was just a minor topic in the media. In order to keep Haiti top of mind & guarantee further support and donations for Caritas long-term reconstruction programme, the agency created “One minute of silence for Haiti”, a silent mp3, sold on major music platforms as a microdonation that managed to top the Swiss charts, was aired by all national radio stations, spread across the press and more importantly kept Haiti an issue.
