QR Codes do not have to be black. What colors can they be?
While being 2d, QR codes are still symbologies, and must adhere to many of the same principles as bar codes. So, as a bar code, they can be printed in various colors and against different colored backgrounds (providing there is enough contrast between the two). Black and white is ideal, however, there are other color combinations that still provide the required contrast. Remember, as with any type of barcode, the only true way to certify the scan-ability of a QR code, Datamatrix code, etc. is by using a GS1 grade barcode scanning device.
